HTI and PHP Equipment Srl have partnered to market HTI’s SALT™ Gasification technology in Europe.
HTI signed a contract with PHP Equipment Srl of Italy to perform an engineering study using SALT™ gasification technology to reduce livestock waste and produce energy.
The feedstock will consist of cattle manure and agricultural crop residue. PHP Equipment Srl is anticipating a spring 2010 start date.
HTI and PHP Equipment Srl have partnered to market HTI’s SALT™ Gasification technology in Europe.

Alternative energy facility opens to accolades in Howard City.
Sietsema Farm Feeds was the site of a commissioning ceremony as Heat Transfer International (HTI) of Kentwood and The Right Place Inc. of Grand Rapids partnered with Sietsema to officially open a facility to convert turkey waste into steam and electric energy for feed production. The operation is housed on a 40-acre site at 19117 Lake Montcalm Road next to the Sietsema grain elevator just south of Howard City.

Heat Transfer International Secures Manufacturing Partner for Waste-to-Energy Power Generation Equipment.
Kentwood, Michigan (October 21, 2009) – Heat Transfer International, (HTI) a leader in engineering and installing waste-to-energy systems announced a manufacturing agreement and sale of minority equity interest to Morbark, Inc. of Winn, Michigan. HTI's systems convert biomass to energy through SALT™ gasification. Morbark is the world’s leading manufacturer of size-reduction equipment for organic materials. The agreement, which will create dozens of green manufacturing jobs in Michigan, calls for Morbark to make a capital investment in HTI and to manufacture the biomass conversion systems engineered and marketed by HTI.

Goutam Shahani, Chief Revenue Officer joins the team at HTI.
Goutam Shahani received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bombay; a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Masters of Business Administration from Lehigh University. Before joining the team at HTI, Goutam worked for 27 years at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. in Allentown, PA, where he held various engineering, business development and marketing positions in the chemicals and gases divisions. His most recent position was Commercial Development Manager, where he was responsible for developing opportunities for merchant gases in the renewable energy market.

Dave Nelson, Chief Technical Officer joins the team at HTI.
Dave Nelson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He has 26 years of experience in design and manufacturing within the automotive and the environmental cleaning solutions industries. Prior to joining HTI, Dave was the Director of Global New Product Development for Tennant Corporation. During Dave’s 10 years with Tennant he held the positions of Chief Engineer and Director of Research and Development before being promoted to Director of Global New Product Development.
